Partnering with local athletics to bring hope and joy to Manitoba children and families
Supporting impactful local causes and giving back to our region is a big priority for my wife and me. Strong communities rely on sustained involvement, shared purpose, and a willingness to help where it matters most. With those values guiding our focus, we are excited to share the details of our latest community initiative. Jodi and I recently made a personal $10,000 donation to The Dream Factory in association with the annual Strangle Submission Series.
The Strangle Submission Series is a popular event in the regional athletic calendar, bringing martial-arts, jiu-jitsu competitors, and spectators together for a high-energy day of sport and friendship. This event is special because of its mission to direct that athletic drive toward positive social impact. Each year, the competition directs its reach and proceeds towards charitable initiatives, demonstrating how local sports platforms can create meaningful change off the mats.
Our involvement with this effort is a long-standing tradition. Ever since the Strange Submission Series first launched, we have donated to the event every single year to help its charity efforts succeed. For this year’s upcoming competition scheduled for August 15th, we are maintaining that partnership by directing a $10,000 contribution straight to the cause. Knowing that these athletic endeavours serve a higher charitable purpose makes every year’s event something we look forward to supporting.
Creating Opportunities & Memories for Manitoba Youth
This year, all $10,000 of our contribution goes directly to The Dream Factory, a Manitoba-based charity focused on making dreams come true for children facing critical illnesses. The work done by The Dream Factory extends well beyond standard assistance. They provide memorable experiences, joy, and hope to children and their families during tough times. Because they are a locally focused organization, every dollar raised stays right here in Manitoba, directly touching the lives of kids within our neighbourhoods.
Building real connections with the charities we support is an essential part of our philosophy. Following this recent contribution, we have been in close contact with the leadership team at The Dream Factory, who invited us to visit their facility for a tour. We are currently coordinating details for that visit, where we will have the opportunity to connect personally with the team, learn more about their active projects, and see the impact that community donations have on the children they serve.
August 15th & Beyond
Looking ahead to the August 15th competition and beyond, we maintain our dedication to uplifting local initiatives. Continuous giving and personal involvement guide everything we do, and supporting an organization like The Dream Factory alongside the Strangle Submission Series is a privilege.
We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone involved in organizing the events, the athletes competing, and the team at The Dream Factory who work every day to bring brightness and hope into the lives of young Manitobans.
